Frequently Asked Questions

We are a small, family-owned business with a lot of heart.

The best and fastest way to contact us if you have any questions or would like to place a large order is via email at [email protected].

Leaving a message on our voicemail is another great option at 1.800.888.YUMM (9866). We will return your call within one business day.

Our policy for reshipping a cookie order requires you to send us a picture of your order:

  1.  Photo of all packs of cookies with the white label facing upward.
  2. All packaging, including the shipping box.
  3. Email the picture to orders@bluechipcookies within 2 days of receipt.
  4. Once the cookies have been eaten or the packaging has been discarded, any claim is void.

We will evaluate each “cookie case,” and our hope is to resolve it to make you happy.

Please note that not liking a particular flavor is not a valid reason for a refund or reship.

📋 Sending to 25 or More?
Let us help!
If you’re sending to 20+ recipients, please contact us and we’ll send you an Excel order form to make it easy.

Go to our Corporate Orders Page to review the catalog.  Send an email to orders@bluechipcookies and we will send you the order form and excel spreadsheet to fill in with addresses.  That easy!

Our policy is that we do not take orders over the phone, but if you are having difficulty placing an order, please send us an email about the issue and we will try to accommodate using email or call you after 3 pm.  From 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., we are mixing, scooping, baking, packing, and shipping.  We don’t have a dedicated team member to answer phone calls due to rising costs. The best way to reach us is by email, as we can respond throughout the day and check when we are between tasks.

At our small business, we take great pride in offering high-quality perishable products. To maintain this standard, we have a firm policy that all sales are final, and we do not provide refunds. However, we want you to know that if we ever find ourselves wholly responsible for an issue, we are dedicated to making things right.

We also understand that various situations can arise that are outside of our control—such as inclement weather, incorrect address entries, carrier delays, road conditions, or a recipient being unavailable. These circumstances can complicate deliveries and may be non-refundable unless protective insurance is purchased. Rest assured, we approach each case with care and consideration to assess the specific details. To help prevent any hiccups along the way, we encourage you to double-check your shipping information and ensure that the intended recipient is aware of the delivery. Our goal is to keep you informed every step of the way through clear communication via email:

1. You’ll receive a confirmation email with your order details and shipping information—please make sure everything aligns with your expectations.

2. We carefully review each order before printing the shipping label, usually the day before we prepare your cookie shipment. You’ll receive a notification once the shipping label has been printed.

3. As soon as your package is on its way, we’ll send a third email to keep you in the loop. While changes can still be requested through the carrier at this point, please remember we can’t guarantee they’ll be accepted.

4. Finally, you’ll get a fourth email when your package arrives. It’s essential to note that FedEx and USPS don’t ring doorbells; they will simply leave the package, so please ensure the recipient is aware to keep an eye out for it.

We appreciate your understanding regarding uncontrollable factors such as weather or traffic delays. To help ensure secure deliveries, please communicate with FedEx and USPS about an appropriate drop-off location at your home or business.

In closing, we are committed to providing you with an exceptional experience, and we genuinely appreciate your understanding as we navigate these challenges together. Thank you for your support!

Our gourmet cookies contain no preservatives, so we package them in very thick poly bags and seal them with minimal air inside.  Exposure to air is what causes a cookie to dry out.

We package most of the cookies in a second bag, and either an “All In One” Mailer Gift Box or a Gift Box inside a shipping box.  All our packaging features our signature crinkled paper, which helps minimize air and moisture in the box. They are packaged to be delicious and fresh when arriving after 1-3 days in transit. We recommend eating your cookies within 2 days of receipt or freezing them in their bags for up to 6 months. We package our cookies to be fresh up to 6 days from the ship date.

If you were to buy cookies in a retail store, not in a sealed bag, the cookies would stay fresh for approximately 18-24 hours due to exposure to air. By sealing the cookies in a bag, they have a longer shelf life with no added preservatives.

We do not sell our cookie dough as the baking process is part of our secret recipe and only certified and trained licensees have access to our recipe and ingredients.

Yes, you can freeze our cookies! Leave them in the original bags we ship them to you in and put them in a Ziplock too for extra protection.  The key is to ensure the bags are not torn or punctured, which lets air in.  We recommend only freezing up to 3 months.

We understand that things can change. There is a cancellation fee of $5.00 due to the time it takes for us to do the refund and other costs associated. Once the order is baked, packaged, and labeled, the sale is final.

We use only Kosher ingredients, but as a small business, the cost is high to have the official certification done annually on our facility.  We continue to look at this opportunity for the future.

Yes, in 2022 we created a gluten free cookie.  We currently offer the sugar cookie but looking to add a few more flavors. We can also do variations of most of our cookies, as long as the other ingredients are gluten free.  More to come, or feel free to make a special request.

Nut Allergy Notice: Due to our baking and handling process, all of our products and team of bakers come into contact with tree nuts or nut oils. Please be aware of this if you have any allergic reaction to these products.

CONTAINS: EGG, MILK, AND WHEAT. MANUFACTURED IN A FACILITY THAT PROCESSES WHEAT, MILK, EGGS, TREE NUTS, AND PEANUTS.
SOY can be found in some cookie flavors because it is in the specialty ingredients.

We actually have over 50 varieties and we add cookies flavors all the time. If you have an idea, let us know.  If you purchase or view the My Way Assortment there is description of each cookie.

We typically carry 25 flavors, however during the holidays we have to reduce this to 15, a tough decision every year.

As you know, Blue Chip Cookies has more than 40 different cookies, and we have endless amounts of variation for those cookies. However, our cookies are made with two basic types of dough:

Our basic brown sugar dough, which is for most of our cookies with the exception of our sugar cookies.

BLUE CHIP BASIC COOKIE DOUGH: Enriched wheat flour bleached (flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), molasses, sugar, butter (pasteurized cream and salt), eggs, baking soda, salt, natural vanilla extract.

Sugar Cookie Dough: No molasses or vanilla extract.

Unfortunately, that was the decision of the franchise owner, who decided in 2006 to shut their doors in SF. We are attempting to re-enter California by partnering with store owners who wish to bake and sell our cookies through a licensing program, rather than franchising. If you know anyone who wants to open a cookie, coffee, or ice cream shop, let us know.

We are now baking from scratch and serving in California at Henry’s Cookies & Cream.

Yes…We follow the exact recipe to the very specification.  We use the same flour, the same Guittard Chocolate, and the same Cane Sugar.  The only difference is that the cookies are bigger.  In the 80s and 90s, they were 1 to 1.6 ounces; now they are 2 ounces. Previously, they were sold by the pound, but now they are sold by the cookie.

Yes, we do…you can order them during the April-August timeframe.  They appear in all the “Create Your Own” Products.

We sell our cookies in boxes in increments of 2, 4, 8, 12, 14, and 28 cookies.  Occasionally, we have big tins that have 36 cookies.

You can order multiple boxes shipped to the same address.

We don’t have a sugar free cookie and have decided not to pursue it, as the demand is low and many of our customers tell us that they control their sugar based on moderation and nutritional values.

If you are watching your sugar and carbs, please check out the nutritional values of our cookies.

Our primary carrier is now UPS, with FedEx used for all packages weighing 2 lbs or more, or containing 8 cookies or more, unless the package is sent to a P.O. Box, in which case USPS Priority Mail is utilized.

For our cookie cards, which hold 2 or 4 cookies, we use USPS Ground Advantage.

Shipping and handling are included in all our prices.

We ship Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
